About
El Camino College has been providing business help and counseling to small-business owners since 1992. The El Camino College Business Training Center (BTC), which houses all El Camino College’s Economic Development programs, was established in the small-business community in 2001. The SBDC assists prospective and existing small business owners in the South Bay area to start, retain or expand their businesses. It also provides affordable workshops, no cost one-on-one consulting services, and many other resources to the small business community.
Services
- Interactive workshops that cover all aspects of business growth and development during convenient hours.
- Services include, but are not limited to, Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) one-on-one counseling, bi-lingual workshops, loan-packaging assistance, legal assistance (business formation, permits and licenses), and export/import.
- Small business owners receive assistance with the formation of LLCs, corporations, sole proprietors, as well as partnerships and S corps.
Specialties
- Focus on businesses in retail, wholesale, manufacturing and construction industries.
- Specialty workshop topics include patent copyright, marketing for Latino-owned, veteran operated, and women- and minority-owned businesses.
- Workshops also address various business-cycle needs, including startup, growing, mature, and declining businesses.

Los Angeles County’s South Bay, which includes the cities from Inglewood south to San Pedro and El Segundo east to Carson, Compton and Lynwood. (see map) |
